Being accompanied competently and compassionately during and after pregnancy is enormously helpful and relieving for many expectant mothers. But it is not always easy to find a midwife with whom you can walk the path from birth to postpartum with confidence.
Family midwives as the first point of contact
The “Early Help in the Hochtaunuskreis” offers support here. The family midwives of the “Frühe Hilfen” are state-certified midwives with an additional qualification. They accompany pregnant women, mothers and fathers in need of support, primarily in the first year of the child’s life, and provide advice and assistance. If necessary, they show the young parents other support options from the Early Help Network, so that they have the best possible advice at every stage of their child’s development.
Who can make use of the family midwives?
The family midwives are subject to confidentiality and provide support free of charge if the parents:
- live in the Hochtaunuskreis (except for the city of Bad Homburg)
- are expecting a child or already have a child under 1 year of age
- sometimes feel a little insecure in the new life situation
wish to have professional advice
Family midwives do not have the task of regular care
However, it must be noted that family midwives can NOT cover regular care during pregnancy. Midwives for regular care during pregnancy can be found on the portal of “Frühen Hilfen im Hochtaunuskreises” under Hebammensuche.
Further information can be found on the website of the Landesverband der Hessischen Hebammen e.V. and on the website Hebammensuche.
